How to use this site

This is a resident-run platform for tracking development, holding boards accountable, and organizing your street. Six tools, all free. Here's what each one does and when to use it.

  1. Tool 1

    Development Map

    What it is
    A live map of every proposed development in Ramapo, color-coded by which board is reviewing it (Planning, Zoning, CDRC, Town Board).
    How to use it
    Zoom into your street. Click a pin to see the address, the board handling it, and the meeting date. Use the legend to filter by board type.
    When to use it
    Before buying a home, before a public hearing on your block, or any time you want to see what's coming to your neighborhood.

  2. Tool 2

    Meeting Calendar

    What it is
    Every public Planning, Zoning, CDRC, and Town Board meeting in one place — pulled from the Town of Ramapo website daily.
    How to use it
    Scroll to the next meeting. Click through to the official agenda and supporting documents. Note the date and time if you want to attend or speak.
    When to use it
    Weekly. Meetings are the only place decisions get made — showing up matters.

  3. Tool 3

    Board Decisions

    What it is
    After each meeting, we scan the official minutes and post whether each application was approved, denied, tabled, or continued.
    How to use it
    Search by address or scroll the timeline. Each entry links back to the source minutes on the Town website.
    When to use it
    The day after a meeting, to see what actually happened without waiting weeks for word of mouth.

  4. Tool 4

    Organize & Take Action

    What it is
    An 8-step playbook to build a neighborhood group, plus a directory of every town official's email and phone, a pre-written email template, and a printable petition PDF.
    How to use it
    Start with Step 1 of the playbook. When you have neighbors on board, use the officials directory and email template to make contact. Print the petition for door-to-door.

    The moment a project on your block worries you. Small groups organized early change outcomes.

  5. Tool 5

    Neighborhood Alerts

    What it is
    Free email alerts whenever a new development is filed within a chosen radius of your address.
    How to use it
    Create an account, enter your home address, and pick a radius (a quarter mile is enough for most streets). We do the watching for you.
    When to use it
    Set it up once and forget it — you'll hear about projects on your block before the public hearing, not after.

  6. Tool 6

    Report a Safety Issue

    What it is
    A separate reporting tool for dangerous intersections, missing crosswalks, broken signage, or any road safety issue in Ramapo.
    How to use it
    Drop a pin on the map, describe the hazard, and submit. Reports are logged publicly so patterns become visible.
    When to use it
    Any time you see something dangerous. One report is a complaint; a hundred reports on the same intersection is evidence.
